The Challenge

The New Collaboration Platform

Allianz Trade had an intranet that was an isolated solution and did not allow integration with modern workplace tools. This static intranet was used to provide information for central functions and to communicate with the workforce.

Purple Bird Technology was commissioned with the project management for the replacement of the existing platform with SharePoint.

There were four project priorities:

Solution I

Agile Working

Due to the size of the intranet, several hundred employees had to contribute their expertise to the move, as only they had the specialist knowledge for the content. With agile working methods and our expertise in managing globally distributed, virtual teams, we were able to successfully bring all the threads together. This allowed us to respond to the needs of employees in the project context and drive the project forward effectively.

Solution II

Stakeholder Management

Due to the large number of stakeholders and the high visibility of the project within the company, a skillful balance of interests was one of the keys to success. Our consultants mastered the challenges that typically arise in such projects.

  • Different needs regarding the functions of the intranet
  • Different affinity in dealing with digital solutions

By addressing the stakeholders in the right way, it was possible to win over the respective strengths of the stakeholders for the project.

Change Management & Communication

In addition to the organizational and technical handling of the project, our team supported the planning and implementation of the change management measures. In particular, this also included the provision of training opportunities, learning materials and a major launch campaign to inspire employees.

The Result

Work 4.0

Despite the difficult initial situation, the project was completed on time and within budget. In addition, there was significant user acceptance, a sharp reduction in license costs and general employee satisfaction thanks to the new possibilities offered by the collaboration platform.
